So Now You're A Leader

A comprehensive leadership course designed to help early-stage leaders thrive and succeed in their new role.

Few people are naturally ‘ready’ to lead. Research from Gallup found that just one in ten people possessed a ‘high natural talent to manage’. A further two in ten have the potential to function at a high level with the right investment.

In the same way you don’t find flight-ready commercial airline pilots who haven’t undergone rigorous training, you don’t just stumble across remarkable leaders. You invest in developing them.

In this course, we are bringing you the expertise and knowledge you need to lead with greater confidence and impact.

Join us to be part of a new wave of leadership.

Course Outline

Watch the introduction video to the course below to get a taste of the style and approach.

Each module is 8 to 10 minutes in length and comes with a downloadable and interactive workbook to put the teachings into practice.

What should a leader's calendar look like?

In our first module together, we focus on how we can go from being and operating in a transactional capacity to that of a strategic one.

We take a deeper look at how we can focus less on output quantity and focus more on outcome quality.

What is culture and what can you do about it?

In module 2 we peel back the layers so we can shift from operating as an individual to collaborating in as a collective.

The emphasis in this module is focusing less on me and how we can focus more on we.

What's the goal of public speaking?

Module 3 breaks down the delivery of information and being an informer to becoming an influencer (don't worry TikTok or dancing in videos not required!)

We will spend time looking at how we can focus less on information sharing but focus more on influencing behaviour.

How do you make meetings more creative, innovative and collaborative?

Module 4 looks at how to shift from contributor to a collaborator.

We discuss how to focus less on creative ideas in the singular and focus more on creative environments that are conducive of more collaborative and better ideas for everyone.

What does a great one-on-one meeting look like?

Module 5 delves into how we step out of a telling mentality to that of an asking one.

We focus our efforts less on having great answers but more on asking great questions.

How do you develop a team of problem solvers?

In module 6 we task you with reframing you position in delivery to your role of development.

You will spend time looking at how you can focus less on doing things but focus more on developing people.

How do you learn to say no more?

Module 7 will be spent looking at how we can focus less on saying yes to everything and focus more on saying no to the wrong things.

Why do people follow you?

In module 8 we reframe your position into your purpose.

This involves focussing less on leading from title and more on leading with vision.

How do you harness the strengths of a team?

Our last module together will be spent harnessing your weaknesses and turning them into your strengths.

The focus is less on being well rounded and more on being well surrounded.

At the heart of this course is the understanding that great leaders aren't born - they're made. While natural talent is certainly a valuable asset, it's not enough on its own to ensure success. To truly excel as a leader, you need to develop your skills and knowledge in areas like culture, communication, creativity, performance, and more.

By working through the nine essential shifts outlined in this course, you'll be able to transition smoothly from team member to people leader. You'll learn how to prioritise effectively, build a positive culture, communicate clearly and authentically, foster creativity, navigate difficult conversations, drive performance, manage your time efficiently, set a compelling vision, and develop your capabilities as a leader.

What People Are Saying:

Shane is that super coach you want in your corner. He has a remarkable depth of knowledge and wisdom on leadership, communication and building teams.

Over the past 6-months, Shane has coached and mentored me through a series of 1:1 sessions. This has undoubtedly short-circuited my effectiveness in building and leading high performing teams and communicating effectively; whether a formal speaking event, executive meeting or informal team meeting.

He has broken down boundaries by taking me on a journey of self-discovery to create a more authentic leader and communicator. There is never a dull moment with Shane and I would highly recommend getting Shane into your corner.

I was lucky enough to be in a group which was facilitated by Shane. I had previously read his book ‘lead the room’ which I loved, but to witness his skills in action and his humble nature was something that I really appreciated.

He is generous, knowledgeable and humorous all at the same time, 3 qualities that I value. Can’t wait to read his latest book!

I have worked with Shane on a few occasions where he was engaged as a speaker, workshop facilitator and developed and delivered a communications program and video content for my teams.

What I love about working with Shane is he is thoughtful, kind, considered and generous. But most of all, he is excellent at his craft and always delivers excellence in his services.

As a CEO, whose organisation’s values are excellence, bravery and relationships, it’s essential that those who we engage, deliver on this promise for our teams. I have the utmost trust and respect for Shane and know that he will deliver on his commitment.
